Edible car contest rolls through IVCC cafeteria

Students would usually be scolded for throwing their food, but that wasn’t the case at Illinois Valley Community College.  The 5^th Annual Edible Car Contest was held at lunchtime Wednesday in the college’s cafeteria.

Teams competed with cars made out of a variety of foods including cucumbers, carrots, cookies and gummy bears. Not every car made it to the finish line.  A few dove off the track onto the floor.

Judges gave out prizes for speed, car design and nutritional value. A few Hall High School students participated along side the IVCC students.
