Students would usually be scolded for throwing their food, but that wasn’t the case at Illinois Valley Community College. The 5th Annual Edible Car Contest was held at lunchtime Wednesday in the college’s cafeteria.
Teams competed with cars made out of a variety of foods including cucumbers, carrots, cookies and gummy bears. Not every car made it to the finish line. A few dove off the track onto the floor.
Judges gave out prizes for speed, car design and nutritional value. A few Hall High School students participated along side the IVCC students.
