Earthquake rattles northern Illinois

Posted by wlpo on February 10, 2010

No, there wasn’t a second earthquake.  But the U.S. Geological Survey has changed what they were reporting about the one that happened at 4am Wednesday.

Originally they said it was a 4.3 magnitude quake, but now they’re saying it was a 3.8 quake.  They’ve also moved where they think it was centered from near Virgil in Kane County to a community northwest of Elgin in the suburbs.

It was felt as far away as Iowa and Indiana.  No damage or injuries were reported.
