Peru officials considering credit card policy

Posted by wlpo on December 28, 2011

It’s not unusual to be issued a company credit card.  Usually it comes with the understanding that every charge will be accounted for with a receipt and a valid excuse.  That’s going to be the policy in Peru if the city council approves a credit card policy next week.

City Clerk Dave Bartley thinks issuing work credit cards to department heads, the mayor and him would be practical since many purchases require a credit card.  He also thinks it would cut down on paper work.

Some of the city council members were skeptical when the idea was proposed Wednesday night, but seem to support it as long as there is a policy and they can review the transactions.  The council could approve a policy when they meet next Wednesday.
