Kinzinger and other congressmen ask business owners what it would take to add one job

With unemployment still high, Congressman Adam Kinzinger is taking a new approach. Asking small business owners what it’ll take for them to add just one job.
Kinzinger and the other four freshmen Republican congressman are soliciting emails and letters from small business owners in their districts to see what lawmakers can do to get them to hire just one more person. They have set a deadline of January 6 for small business owners to respond. After that, they’ll take the suggestions to the desks of Senators Dick Durbin and Harry Reid and President Barack Obama. Kinzinger explained the idea Wednesday during a visit to Ottawa.
With 1.1 million small businesses in Illinois, Kinzinger says if just ten percent of them hire one more person, that’s110 thousand new jobs.
