Mendota man accused of selling cocaine to police

An investigation into cocaine sales in Mendota has a man being held on $1 million bond.  Members of TRIDENT arrested Eric Mossa of Mendota Thursday. 

They say Mossa sold cocaine to an undercover officer and had seven grams of cocaine on him when he was arrested on a warrant. 

Police say they found another eight grams and $7,000 cash in his apartment.  Mossa was charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and more charges are possible. 

He’s being held in the La Salle County Jail.

Hennepin to hold food drive Saturday morning

If you’re grocery shopping Friday buy a few extra items if you can for a food drive.  You can leave the canned goods and food that won’t spoil near your front door by 9am Saturday.

If you live outside of Hennepin you can bring your items to the Hennepin Village Hall by 10am Saturday.

The food drive is sponsored by the Hennepin Business and Betterment Association and the Putnam County High School Interact Club

All donations will be taken to the Putnam County Food Pantry.
