TV Cameras Come To Utica’s Cajun Connection

Chicagoans are about to find out what you already knew…Cajun Connection in Utica is a one of a kind restaurant.

A film crew from WGN-TV stopped at the restaurant last night to film a segment for their show “Chicago’s Best”.  “Chicago’s Best” is a weekly show on WGN and CLTV that showcases the best restaurants and food in Chicagoland.

According to the Cajun Connection Facebook page, they’ll be featured on the October 27^th “Chicago’s Best” show.

Services Announced For Longtime Utica Mayor

Utica’s beloved mayor will be laid to rest Monday.

A funeral service for 63 year old Fred Esmond will be Monday morning at Burgess Funeral Home in Utica with the burial to follow Oak Hill Cemetery in Utica.  Esmond lost his battle to throat cancer Wednesday morning.

He was first elected to office in 2001. Besides being mayor, Esmond owned and operated Esmond Excavating for over 40 years.
