Tim McGraw Showtime Arrives

Country superstar Tim McGraw is expected to take the Illinois Valley Regional Airport stage around 9 as part of Lou’s La Grotto’s “Concerts for a Cause” series.  Rising country act Love and Theft will open the show around 7.

Tickets will be 70 dollars at the gate today.  Gates open at 4.  The city of Peru is handling parking and is charging a 5 dollar parking fee. Remember that no coolers or lawn chairs are allowed.

96.5 The Wolf is a presenting sponsor of Tim McGraw’s concert for a cause.  Part of the proceeds goes to the March of Dimes.

Substation Issues Affect Cornbelt Energy Customers

Many people in Deer Park and Oglesby woke up Saturday with no power.

At the peak of the outages, Cornbelt Energy had over 500 customers in La Salle County without power including over 200 outages in Oglesby and Deer Park along with Ottawa.  There were also scattered outages in Marseilles and Grand Ridge.

Cornbelt says outage was caused by underground substation feeder issues.

Streator’s Fourth Rolls On With Lip Sync Finals And Fireworks

Streator’s July 4th celebration continues today with lip synching and fireworks.

A carnival is open today at the corner of Vermilion and Hickory Streets from 2 until 9.  WAJK’s 23rd Annual Lip Sync Contest finals start at 7:30 at the Streator High School football field.  Not long after that will be fireworks.  Streator’s fireworks will be set to music from 99.3 WAJK.

The weekend wraps up Sunday at 1 with Streator’s Fourth of July parade.
