BB gun club proposed for Peru

The BB Gun Club has been a popular activity for children in Oglesby.  Soon children in Peru will have a BB gun club of their own.

Greg Vaccaro is one of several adults that are creating the club that would be open to kids ages nine through 13 or 14 in Peru.  He says the club would also include police officers and teach children about gun safety.

The want to meet in the basement of City Hall.

People helped out of burning Ottawa home

It’s been a bad start to the weekend for a family in Ottawa.  Two adults and four children were taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa after their home caught on a fire.  The fire was reported minutes 8am Saturday.

Police officers were able to help several people down from the roof of a porch.  The house is on Guion Street.  The State Fire Marshall’s office is involved with the investigation.
