Five people taken to the hospital after Route 6 crash

Posted by wlpo on December 1, 2012

Swerving didn’t prevent a crash on Route 6.  Five people were taken to local hospitals Friday night after a two-car crash on Route 6 at the turnoff to Richard Hallett Road or the Utica shortcut.

Police say Gary Cooper of Ottawa swerved into oncoming traffic to avoid hitting a car that was stopped ahead of him.  Police say he hit a car driven by a 17 year old Ottawa girl.

Cooper and the four people in that car had to go to area hospitals.  Police say he might be ticketed.
