Peru hires Trovero for street projects

The Shooting Park Road Hill, North Peoria Street and scattered side streets in Peru are on the list to be resurfaced this year.  The Len Trovero Construction of La Salle has been hired to do the work after offered the lowest bids at $1.9 million.

Alderman Dave Waldorf is happy with the bid amounts.  He says because the bid came in low they’ll spend an estimated $150,000 to replace a sanitary sewer line on May Road and give the wards an extra $25,000 for repairing streets.

The streets project and a few sewer jobs are being paid for with a $3 million loan the city plans to pay back using new sales tax money.
