Class X felony charge for Mendota man accused of having cocaine

A lengthy investigation in Mendota has left a man facing a Class X Felony drug charge. Humberto Samano of Mendota is accused of having 165 grams of cocaine.

Officers with TRIDENT searched his home Monday. Samano was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver Cocaine. He’s being held in the La Salle County Jail with his bond set at $2 million.

Lengthy investigation leads to misdemeanor drug charges

A long investigation into drugs in Princeton left two men arrested but only for minor marijuana related charges.

Timothy Sours of Princeton and Daniel Kuhnert of Dover were pulled over Thursday in Princeton by a Bureau County Sheriff’s Deputy. Police say Sours had marijuana in the car and Kuhnert had marijuana in his home. Both were given notices to appear.

The area drug fighting team, TRIDENT, was involved in the investigation.

Man arrested in La Salle after allegedly receiving marijuana in the mail

Any package being sent through the U.S. Postal Service is going to be inspected, including a packaging with 12 pounds of marijuana.

A man with a California address is facing a felony drug charge in La Salle County after police say he receive more than 5000 grams of marijuana in the mail Friday.

Joseph Larabee was pulled over and arrested at Ninth and Joliet Streets in La Salle by members of TRIDENT. He was being held in the La Salle County Jail with his bond set at $500,000.

New drug charges for Harris

Police say they found more than kitchen supplies at a business in Ottawa. A raid Thursday of the Chef’s Helper on Columbus Street has left Robert “Pudgy” Harris of Morris facing cocaine related charges.

Harris has a criminal history and spent time in federal prison.

Officers with TRIDENT allegedly found approximately 50 grams of cocaine, several digital scales, packaging materials and about $3,800 cash. Police say the search came after Harris sold 57 grams of cocaine.

Harris was charged with two counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and one count of unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. All are class X felonies.

Harris is being held in the La Salle County Jail with his bond set at $2 million.

TRIDENT arrests a man and woman in Spring Valley

While the public perception of marijuana has been changing, it’s still an illegal drug. Members of TRIDENT were in Spring Valley Friday to arrest a pair accused of dealing marijuana.

Curtis Kelly and Katelynn Rasmunson were charged with unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver. Both were taken to the Bureau County Jail where Kelly remains. Police say Rasmunson was able to bond out but could face more charges.

Oglesby man and woman arrested on cocaine related charge

Two alleged sources for cocaine in La Salle County are in jail. Officers with the drug team TRIDENT Wednesday arrested Tabitha Becker, AKA Tabs, at her house in Oglesby.

Her roommate, Johnny Hopkins, was also arrested yesterday, but in Ottawa.

Police say Becker and Hopkins sold cocaine to undercover officers multiple times before getting arrested. Both were charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and were taken to the La Salle County Jail. Their bonds were set at $1 million.

La Salle man accused of selling cocaine

A drug deal can happen anywhere, even at a popular spot for ice cream. Officers with the drug team TRIDENT arrested Larry Chandler of La Salle after he allegedly sold cocaine to an undercover agent.

Police say it happened Wednesday in the parking lot of Frank’s Cigar Store in La Salle. They say the arrest came after a long investigation.

Chandler is being held in the La Salle County Jail with his bond set at $1 million.

Two arrested for cocaine charges

You hear a lot about heroin abuse in the Illinois Valley but cocaine is also available. Allegedly it was as close as Eighth Street in Peru. Police with TRIDENT Wednesday arrested Matthew Pelka of Peru after they say he sold cocaine to someone working undercover.

Meanwhile, in Ottawa, officers arrested Raymond Joyce, the third, after a lengthy investigation.

Both Joyce and Pelka were charged with unlawful delivery of cocaine and were being held in the La Salle County Jail with their bonds at $1 million.

Cocaine investigation leaves two Ottawa men facing charges

Visit rural Ottawa and the last thing to come to mind would be cocaine trafficking, though a house outside of town was searched during an investigation by TRIDENT.

19-year-old Damien Johnson and 33-year-old Robert Davis of Ottawa were arrested Thursday for cocaine related charges. Police say Davis was also wanted on warrants.

Johnson was being held in the La Salle County Jail with his bond set at $1 dollars. Davis was awaiting a bond hearing.

Heroin investigation in Streator leads to three arrests

Could you spot an undercover officer? An investigation into heroin sales in Streator used people working undercover for TRIDENT. Three men were arrested last Thursday and Friday for allegedly selling heroin to a person working with the police

Eric Anderson of Streator was arrested Thursday at his home for two counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance.

That same day Dwayne Daniels of La Salle was arrested in Streator for one count of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and aggravated battery. Police say he hit an officer during his arrest.

Jimmie Stillwell of Streator was arrested Friday for one count of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance.

Bonds for all three were set at $1 million. They were being held in the La Salle County Jail.
