Accumulating snow likely Sunday in the Illinois Valley
Posted by wlpo on December 3, 2016
Your first snowfall of the season appears to be a gentle one with little wind expected this afternoon. About almost 5 1/2 inches has fallen across the area. Radar indicates the system is moving northeast. The back edge of this snow event is at the Quad Cities as of 2:30pm Sunday.
A heavier band of snow around the Quad Cities northeast into Lee, Ogle and Dekalb Counties has prompted a Winter Storm Warning for those areas until 6pm. LaSalle County is under a Winter Weather Advisory until 6. Bureau and Putnam are also under one until 3pm.
