Ottawa to Vote on Ordinances for Incoming Pharmacy Tuesday

Posted by wlpo on November 26, 2016

After a brief delay, progress towards a new pharmacy in Ottawa may be picking up again.

The Ottawa City Council has set a special meeting for Tuesday. At the meeting, they plan to consider a number of items related to a planned CVS in the city. Among the items up for consideration are ordinances vacating an alley, a conditional use permit, and preliminary and final plat approvals for the business.

According to Mayor Bob Eschbach, those moves were postponed earlier this month because some changes needed to be made to them.

The public comment period for the alley vacation came and went without incident earlier in the month.

Ottawa, Minooka Police Team Up to Take Down Woman Driving Stolen Car

Posted by wlpo on November 26, 2016

When police departments work together, you’re going to have a hard time getting away with a crime.

That scenario played out yesterday for a Grand Ridge woman. Shortly after 9:30, Ottawa Police took to the Illinois State Police Emergency Radio Network to put out a report of a stolen motor vehicle.

Less than a half-hour later, a Minooka Police Officer found the vehicle going east on Interstate 80 and pulled the car over. The officer would take the driver into custody.

Shortly after that, 28-year old Ashley Kincade was arrested for possession of a stolen motor vehicle. Kincade had just been released from the LaSalle County Jail on Wednesday on a charge of driving with a suspended license.

She was taken back to the county jail where she awaits a bond hearing.
