Grand Ridge paramedics check out man who fell into a well

While you may have been prepping the big Thanksgiving meal, Grand Ridge firefighters got an unusual call for help Wednesday night.

A 9-1-1 call came in around 8:45 about a man in his 30s who had fallen down into a 20 foot well. The location of the call was along North 17th Road between Grand Ridge and Streator.

According to one firefighter the man was able to get out on his own but was checked out by paramedics.

Adam Kinzinger plans stop in La Salle

Your congressman is ready to see for himself the improvements being made to the Kaskaskia Hotel in downtown La Salle.

Republican Adam Kinzinger has scheduled a tour of the Kaskaskia Monday afternoon. In September, developers laid out a timeline with construction starting in the spring and the hotel being restored and ready for business as early as summer of 2018.

The reopening of the 100 room hotel and conference center is expected to $30 million.

October a lean month for home sales in the valley

For most of the Illinois Valley, October was a slow month for home sales.

According to numbers from the Illinois REALTORS Association, 94 homes were closed on last month in La Salle County compared to 125 in September. For the year home sales are up eight percent in La Salle County.

For Bureau County in October there were 23 homes sold compared to 25 in September. Home sales for the year in Bureau County are right where they were last year.

In Putnam County, six homes were closed on in October, up from only two in September. Home sales in 2016 are down 33 percent in Putnam County.

Ottawa man hurt in rollover crash

Deputies think speed played a roll in a rollover crash southwest of Ottawa.

Thirty-seven-year-old Timothy Emanuelson of Ottawa left a county road Wednesday morning and rolled into a ditch according to the La Salle County Sheriff’s Office. He was taken to OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa.

Emanuelson was ticketed for failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident and driving uninsured.
