A homeless man has ended his hunger strike while awaiting a trial in La Salle County for burglary.
Prosecutors had asked for a court order to force 72-year-old Roy Cope to use a feeding tube at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa. Cope was hospitalized after 44 days of not eating.
He was arrested back in July in Peru for allegedly stealing a vehicle from a Peru dealership. Cope is due back in court December 1st.
