Question of desolving township passes

Posted by wlpo on November 9, 2016

It was just an advisory question, but it looks like voters in Peru don’t care too much for township form of government.

A referendum that asked whether or not the city of Peru should continue the process of dissolving Peru Township passed with 61 percent approval. The total vote count was 2,758 yes and 1,791 no.

When it comes to binding referendums, both Cherry and Dimmick School District voters overwhelmingly supported the permanent consolidation of the two school districts.
