Voter interest high so far in La Salle County

Posted by wlpo on October 18, 2016

If interest in early voting and voting by mail is any indication, it looks like voter turnout could be high in three weeks.

La Salle County Clerk JoAnn Carretto calls early voting “brisk” and interest in voting by mail to be just short of “heavy.” On Monday for instance Carretto says her office handled around 400 applications for mailed ballots. Once they receive the applications, Carretto says they try to get the election ballot in the mail the very same day.

The last day applications for a mailed ballot are accepted is November 3rd while the last day to vote early in person is the day before the election, November 7th.
