New inclusive playground in Ottawa set to be unveiled

Posted by wlpo on October 14, 2016

A playground for all children to play on regardless of abilities or physical limitations will debut Saturday in Ottawa.

A grand opening of the first phase for the new inclusive playground at Lincoln-Douglas Park is at 9 o’clock. Phase one includes freestanding playground equipment like a wheelchair-accessible glider. The Ottawa Kiwanis and the city won a $25,000 grant that helped fund the playground.

Fundraising continues to pay for phase two of the playground that will include slides, climbers, and a bridge.
