Serena graduate represents the Illinois Valley and his country at the Rio Paralympic Games

Did you know that La Salle County had an Olympic athlete in the Rio Games?
Jese Schag of Newark who graduated from Serena High School represented the United States at the Rio Paralympic Games. Schag competed in the sport of sitting volleyball. Jese is a marine who had right leg amputated after a motorcycle accident.
On Thursday, Congressman Adam Kinzinger and the rest of the House of Representatives passed an amendment so that Olympic medalists will not be taxed on their “victory” bonus.
