Police potentially save man’s life during during drug bust in Peru

Posted by wlpo on September 23, 2016

When police serve a warrant, there’s no telling what will be waiting on the other side of the door.

Members of the Peru Police Department, Illinois State Police and the La Salle County State’s Attorney’s Office busted into a home on the west side of Peru Friday morning. When officers got inside, they found an unresponsive man. Several others were in the home including children.

To revive the unconscious man, police used Narcan which is used to block the effects of opioids. The man was then taken to Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru where he’s expected to recover.

Officers say they found felony amounts of marijuana and thousands of dollars. No names or potential charges have been released yet.
