One serious injury with latest Interstate 80 crash

Traffic snarled on Interstate 80 eastbound Thursday after the latest semi crash.

Early Thursday afternoon, emergency crews responded to the scene of an accident involving 2 semis near Ottawa. Initial calls had an individual possibly ejected from one of the semis. A woman who was seriously injured in the crash was flown to Peoria after being taken to OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

Cars were at a standstill for several hours on the interstate, backing up at times to near the Utica exit.
