SPRINGFIELD¬†(AP) – The Illinois State Fair is over for another year. Unfortunately this year’s fair may be remembered most for a stabbing.

State troopers say a 17-year-old girl was arrested in the weekend stabbing of a 16-year-old girl at the fair. The stabbing happened Saturday night in the carnival area.

The 16-year-old girl was expected to be released from the hospital yesterday. Troopers are calling the incident “isolated.”
