Early Morning Crash Kills One Mendota Man, Injures Another

An early morning crash killed one Mendota man and seriously injured another after 1:00 Tuesday.
LaSalle County Coroner William Wujek says 20-year old Alonzo Gonzalez was pronounced dead at the scene of the rollover crash along Route 251 in Mendota.
Police say the driver, 33-year old Brian Burress from Mendota, was ejected from the vehicle. He would eventually be taken via life flight to St. Anthony’s Hospital in Rockford.
The accident is still under investigation by both the County Coroner’s Office and Illinois State Police.
