The Peru Police have made their efforts to crack down on heroin dealers in the Illinois Valley well-known. That investigation led them to two alleged crack cocaine dealers who were busted Friday.

The first arrest was 51-year old Carl Winchester who was picked up at his house in the city just after 5. He was charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance but police say more charges are expected after they found crack cocaine in his house while he was being arrested.

A Joliet woman was also busted for allegedly selling drugs in Peru. Thirty-two year old Kandi Davis was arrested Friday night after 9:30. Peru Police Chief Doug Bernabei said he “genuinely believes these are the first in the next round of arrests.”
