Marseilles Man Pleads “Not Guilty” to Five Felonies in Ottawa Court Thursday

Posted by wlpo on July 21, 2016

A Marseilles man who faces five felonies for his role in an alleged robbery was in court Thursday.

Thirty-one year old Paul Hawkins pled “not guilty” to charges that he went into a home back on June 15th and threatened the people inside with a gun before taking a wallet and phone and leaving. He was formally arraigned on charges of armed robbery with a firearm, robbery, two theft charges, and possession of a weapon by a felon.

He had been indicted by a grand jury for those charges earlier in the week. He’s currently in the LaSalle County Jail needing $25,000 to get out.

Hawkins’ alleged getaway driver, Kimberly Somyogyi from Westmont, isn’t due back in court until next week. She’s current out of custody on $2,500 bond.
