Man Involved in Semi Rollover Near Lostant in “Stable” Condition

State Police are still unsure exactly why a semi entered the median on Interstate 39 north of Lostant Tuesday morning.

According to police, 59-year old Randy Smith was going north when his tractor and trailer went into the median before rolling over. The accident happened shortly after 6, and Smith was the only person involved in the accident. Police say the cause was “improper lane use into the median.”

Smith would have to be taken to Illinois Valley Community Hospital where he was then flown to Peoria. He is listed in stable condition at this time.
