Crash Caused by Buckled Pavement on I-39

Posted by wlpo on June 17, 2016

More information has been released about the crash that led to the closing of Interstate 39 South for 3 hours Wednesday night.

According to State Police, 26-year old James Yoon from Rockford was heading south on 39 just before 7, between the bridge and Oglesby exit, when his car hit the pavement that had buckled. Then, police say Yoon lost control of his car and hit a semi which was driven by 44-year old William Glover from Garland, Texas.

Nobody was injured in the crash but the interstate had to be closed for 3 hours Wednesday night, and one lane was closed for part of the morning Thursday, so that the buckled pavement could be fixed.
