Hostess recalls snacks across the U.S.

Posted by wlpo on June 5, 2016

Do you have any sensitivity to peanuts?  Hostess Bakeries is recalling thousands of single serve snack cakes and donuts, multipack boxes and bagged donuts – brands like Ding Dongs and Zingers – because Hostess says they may have come in contact with peanut residue. It admits it is doing so out of an abundance of caution.  They were sold  in stores all across the U.S.

NBC New York says the flour used to make these products likely came in contact with peanut residue.  Anyone with an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts who consumes any of the snacks involved in the recall could risk a serious or life-threatening reaction. Anyone who bought the affected snack items may return them to where they were purchased for a full refund.

No code numbers were provided in the story.  A full list of products is on the FDA’s website. The recall involves 710-thousand cases of various snacks.
