Fire breaks out in vacant Streator home

Another vacant house caught fire in Streator.

A 9-1-1 call went out just before two o’clock Thursday morning about heavy smoke coming from the back of a vacant house at 315 Boys Street. Streator firefighters had the fire out in about 10 minutes and contained it to a bedroom.

Nobody was hurt. The state fire marshal’s office has been called to help investigate what started the fire.
