Warmer than normal summer predicted for the Illinois Valley

It looks like you may be running the air conditioner a lot this summer.
The National Weather Service has put out its summer outlook for temperatures and severe weather. When it comes to summer temperatures, the forecast is for a “La Nina” weather pattern which usually means warmer than normal. The “La Nina” though doesn’t really give any scoop on if this summer will be wetter than normal or if there will be a lot of severe storms.
In the short term, this week’s weather will have high temperatures in the 80s with a chance of storms every day this week but today.
