Hopewell Man Taken to Hospital after Crash on One-Way Street

Posted by wlpo on May 23, 2016

You have to remember if you’re in Ottawa that a handful of streets are one way.

A man from Hopewell was on Columbus Street in Ottawa Sunday afternoon when he said his GPS told him to turn left. Police say James Crank thought he was in the left-hand lane when he turned, but he was actually in the middle lane.

When he tried to turn left, the 20-year old actually turned in front of a car driven by 48-year old Kevin Goff of Ottawa. Goff then hit the back of Crank’s car.

Crank had to be taken to OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Crank was also cited for improper lane use.
