Hall parents urged to tell lawmakers to pass a budget

Posted by wlpo on May 23, 2016

If you have a student at Hall High School, pick up the phone and call State Representative Andy Skoog and State Senator Sue Rezin.

Hall Superintendent Mike Struna has written up a letter to parents warning that if the state doesn’t pass a budget before the election, the high school could close its doors in the spring. Struna says the district can survive on property taxes until January or February.

In the last three years, Struna says they have eliminated the principal position and school librarian, cut a custodian and cafeteria worker and also cut an English, foreign language and P.E. teacher. Next school year they are getting rid of a social studies and special education teacher.
