Cut cable leads to phone outage in Mendota

Posted by wlpo on May 21, 2016

Phone service should be fully operational now in Mendota.

A cable was reportedly cut Friday which caused about a six hour phone outage for the Mendota Police Department and other customers of Frontier Communications. The outage started at approximately 1:15 in the afternoon Friday and was fixed by 7:45 in the evening.

During the outage, 9-1-1 calls were going to a backup agency and eventually forwarded to the Mendota dispatch center.
