Charges mount against former L-P substitute teacher

Posted by wlpo on May 18, 2016

A grand jury has added more charges in the case of a former L-P volunteer baseball coach and substitute teacher.

Twenty-four-year-old Kyle Pisano of Peru now faces additional counts of criminal sexual assault to go along with his initial two felony charges of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. The criminal sexual assault charges accuse Pisano of a sex crime against a student while he was in a position of trust and authority. That means Pisano was the victim’s substitute teacher at some point.

Pisano was arrested at his home in Peru a couple weeks ago. He had already resigned as a substitute teacher and coach. Pisano has posted $7,500 bond and is out of custody. He’s due back in court June 6th.

The new charges of criminal sexual assault carry a maximum sentence of 15 years for each charge and if convicted, Pisano would have to serve the penalties separately and not be eligible for probation.
