ComEd asking to raise rates
Posted by wlpo on April 14, 2016
If you live in Mendota or Streator, your ComEd bill is likely going up next year.
The utility asked the state this week for two separate rate increases that would take effect in January. ComEd is looking for an extra $138 million from their customers to pay for “modernizing their system.” The Illinois Commerce Commission can deny their rate increase, approve it or agree to a lower dollar amount.
If ComEd gets their way, bills would go up about $2 a month starting in January and another extra dollar in June.
