Skoog pushing the state to act quicker on conceal carry rulings

Posted by wlpo on March 12, 2016

Long before he and other House members left Springfield for Easter, Representative Andy Skoog wrote up a bill to help frustrated gun owners.

Right now the state gets up to 30 days to review and issue a ruling on a concealed carry application that is challenged. However even after the 30 days, a state board can delay their decision for an extended period of time. Skoog’s proposal requires a decision one way or another on a gun permit within 60 days.

Skoog says he came up with the bill after hearing from frustrated gun owners who have been left in limbo.
