Chicago man arrested after slow speed chase in the Illinois Valley

Posted by wlpo on February 2, 2016

Not all police pursuits are high speed chases.

Just before midnight Monday night, La Salle Police pulled over Zsoch Dunn of Chicago. After a drug dog allegedly picked up the scent of drugs, Dunn was told to get out of his car. Instead he’s accused of driving away, hitting an officer’s shoulder with his car. As Dunn drove away, he ran over stop sticks which damaged his rear tires.

With the damaged tires, Dunn led police on a slow speed chase of 10 to 30 miles per hour on Route 178 and Interstate 80 before the pursuit finally ended on I-80 just before the Ottawa exit.

Dunn was arrested for unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, possession of marijuana, fleeing and eluding a police officer and resisting an officer. He was taken to the county jail in Ottawa.

More charges are pending against Dunn.
