Streator native training for a spot in the Olympics

Posted by wlpo on January 27, 2016

How cool would it be to have an athlete from the Illinois Valley compete in the Olympics?

2010 Streator High School graduate Logan Pflibsen has a legitimate shot at competing in the pole vault competition at the 2016 games in Rio. Pflibsen finished his time at New Mexico University as an All-American with a personal best vault of 17 feet, 8 and a half inches. To qualify for the Olympic Trials, he needs to clear another 10 inches.

To help him live his dream, Logan’s sister Tori has set up a GoFundMe page. She says now that he’s out of college, he’s has to foot the bill for equipment and travel expenses for training and competitions.

In less than a week, over $1,800 has been raised towards the $3,000 goal. To donate, click Pflibsen Go Fund Me
