Spring Valley man pleads guilty

Posted by wlpo on January 17, 2016

How many burglaries does someone have to pull off before they’re called a serial burglar?

Mason Hass of Spring Valley pled guilty Friday to three counts of burglary and two counts of residential burglary.  He was arrested in September and at that time was thought to have played a role in 30 burglaries in La Salle, Bureau and Marshall Counties.  Prosecutors now think Hass could’ve burglarized up to 75 places including Tonica Grade School.

Hass will be sentenced March 11th and faces up to 15 years in prison.  He was paroled from prison in January of 2014 after serving about a year and a half for a residential burglary conviction in La Salle County.
