Travel conditions deserve caution

Posted by wlpo on January 10, 2016

Looking across the horizon conditions appear hazy due to snow whipped up by northwest winds. Some rural areas in LaSalle County may have received upwards of 3 inches Saturday night. Nearby, The National Weather Service says Peoria reported 3.4 inches and Lacon in Marshall County 2 inches. The Winter Weather Advisory was lifted about mid-evening Saturday night because the storm did not behave as anticipated.

In our 3 county area, north/south roads are experiencing drifting due to northwest winds gusting to 30 mph. Roads are snow and ice covered and in the open areas, visibility and drifting may be a problem into tonight. If you encounter particularly difficult driving conditions on any area roads, you can post your comments on our Facebook pages. Closings are posted at 815 life.com.
