Another big year for Starved Rock State Park

Despite flooding issues from time to time, Starved Rock State Park had nearly 2.5 million visitors last year.
According to the NewsTribune, the 2015 attendance is up 8 percent over 2014’s 2.3 million visitors, which was the previous highest-ever attendance. The park had more than 850,000 visitors between Memorial Day and Labor Day. That breaks attendance records for June, July and August.
Park Superintendent Kerry Novak says “for losing the summer as much as we did, that is incredible.”
