Streator Man Arrested for Assault and Battery after Incident Tuesday

A Streator man was arrested after La Salle County Deputies responded to reports of a domestic disturbance with a man with a gun.

Royce Davis of Streator was arrested Tuesday evening for Aggravated Assault and Domestic Battery. Davis allegedly pointed a loaded gun at family members in addition to allegedly pulling the hair out of a family member repeatedly. Davis injured himself during the incident and had to be taken to OSF St. Elizabeth Hospital in Ottawa where he was treated for injuries.

After leaving the hospital Davis was taken to the La Salle County Jail.

An Accident in Loves Park Led to a Woman Landing on a Roof

The Loves Park Police Department is investigating an accident where a woman was thrown from her car onto the roof of a nearby home.

According to police, it happened late Tuesday night on Harlem Road.  An unidentified woman was driving east when she lost control of her car and slammed into a utility pole. Police say she was thrown from her car onto the roof of a nearby home, which she fell off of.

She has been taken to a nearby hospital where she is listed in stable condition.

Police believe the woman was likely involved in a dispute with another car when she lost control. They say she could face alcohol related charges.

Witnesses told police they believe she was speeding at upwards of 80 miles-per-hour.  The driver of the other car will not face charges.

Parts of Dee Bennett and Ben Samek Roads Closed Through Weekend

The LaSalle County Highway Department announced this morning the two highways will be closed until the water recedes and ice can be cleared.

Dee Bennett Road is closed from IL-178 to N. 2803rd Road near the LaSalle County Nursing Home.

Also, Ben Samek Road will be closed by noon today from Illinois Route 251 to Sandy Cosgrove Road.

Marseilles Police say No Mandatory Evacuations Expected

Marseilles Police said in a statement issued via Facebook Wednesday morning there will be no change in their current plan of action and they do not expect any mandatory evacuations. They have been monitoring river levels and conditions throughout the night.

River levels remain above the 19 foot action stage for the City of Marseilles. They say the next update will be given tomorrow morning unless there are changes in levels or conditions for the worse.

Once again, they do not anticipate any mandatory evacuations to take place.
