New board member chosen to represent eastern La Salle County

Posted by wlpo on December 15, 2015

Andy Skoog’s decision to go to Springfield has created a domino effect in La Salle County government.

Someone needs to replace Skoog as the circuit clerk. That someone is La Salle County Board member Jim Olson of Seneca. Olson will be sworn in as circuit clerk this Friday.

Olson’s departure creates a vacancy on the county board seat representing Seneca and Marseilles. Fellow Democrat Robert Lee has accepted the board position. He plans on running for the board seat in November and will be challenged by Republican Anne Kaczmarek of Marseilles.

Olson also was the vice chairman of the La Salle County Board and that role will now be filled by Peru board member Jill Bernal.
