Longtime private country club goes public

The Illinois Valley’s oldest 18-hole golf course officially has new owners.
The Deer Park Country Club near Oglesby is now the Senica’s Deer Park Golf Club. Late last month, Deer Park’s board of directors overwhelmingly voted in support of selling the club to the owners of Senica’s Oak Ridge.
Deer Park was founded in 1904. Earlier this year the course was opened to the public for golf three days a week.
