Fight in Somonauk allegedly involved a pistol and motorized wheelchair

A Sheridan man is accused of using a gun and his motorized wheelchair as weapons in a fight.

Somonauk Police were called to a house Thursday on the north side of town about a man threatening someone with a gun. When officers showed up, they noticed a big argument going on.

Sixty-two-year-old Keith Burkhart was arrested for aggravated assault and battery. He’s accused of pointing a pistol at someone and ramming his wheelchair into a woman’s leg, causing bruises.

Burkhart was released with a November court date in DeKalb County.
