Earlville woman facing heroin charges

The latest heroin arrest in the Illinois Valley involves a woman from Earlville.

Tonya Richardson was arrested for unlawful possession of a controlled substance Thursday while in the south side of Ottawa. She’s accused of having heroin.

Richardson earned a trip to the county jail.

Cruise against cancer Saturday in Oglesby

There is not a drop of rain in the forecast this weekend, which is perfect for the 4th Annual Cruise Against Cancer car show.

You’ll be able to see cars, old and new, from 4 to 8 today at the Rootbeer Stand in Oglesby. There will be awards and dash plaques handed out to drivers who pay the $10 entry fee.

All proceeds from the car cruise benefits Illinois Valley families dealing with cancer. The money will be distributed by Cops 4 Cancer.

Streator woman accused of hit-and-run, DUI at Streator McDonalds

Just a few blocks from home, a Streator woman decided to make a pit stop at McDonalds, and it’s going to cost her.

Melinda Sims is charged with a DUI and leaving the scene of an accident after she allegedly rear ended another driver at the Streator McDonalds drive thru and drove off shortly after 2 Friday morning.

Sims was released with a court date.
