Online fund set up to help Ottawa firefighter and paramedic

Posted by wlpo on September 8, 2015

Imagine getting your dream job and then days later being hospitalized with Leukemia.

That’s what Ottawa firefighter Michael Williams is going through. Williams was offered a union firefighter job in Ottawa in July but since then has been out of work getting aggressive treatment for Leukemia, causing him to miss work.

His fellow firefighters are trying to raise $70,000 to pay his mortgage and bills for a year. Williams could be out of work between 6 to 9 months.
