Child hurt in county’s 2nd hit and run

“No Comment” is the statement from the Bureau County Sheriff’s Office on if an arrest has been made in last night’s hit and run in Ohio.

Officers say a child was hit by a car near the intersection of Routes 92 and 26 in Ohio last night. As of this morning, they couldn’t say if an arrest had been made or not.

Investigators were looking for a white man with a shaved head who was driving a black Pontiac Grand Prix or Bonneville.

The child was taken to Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton.

No new information on Utica stabbing

    Violence toward 1 village resident has to put everyone else on edge. The Sheriff’s Department has a case in Utica where a 24-year old man was found by police outside his home Saturday morning with serious injuries. A deputy was responding to a report of a home invasion at 226 West Washington around 3:50am. The victim was found with stab wounds in the torso.  He received initial treatment at IVCH and then went to OSF St. Francis in Peoria. No other details were given out. It remains under investigation with more information coming later.

Wenona man fatally injured in rollover

A 25-year old Wenona man’s life ended Sunday morning in a LaSalle County field not far from his home. State police said Jeremy Zulz was northbound, a 1 1/2 miles south of Wenona, when his Ford F150 entered the east ditch and struck an embankment. The truck overturned ejecting Zulz around 12:45am. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the LaSalle County Coroner.

Chicago man critical after Saturday rollover

     A Chicago man condition is listed as critical Sunday night after a rollover accident on I-80 Saturday afternoon. Master Sergeant Anthony Kestner is with District 17 State Police at LaSalle. Kestner’s release said 67-year old Arnulfo Luna was westbound when he entered a median four miles east of Utica about 2:50pm. Luna overcorrected, causing the van to cross the 2 lanes and roll in the north ditch.

    Luna was flown to OSF St. Francis in Peoria. A housing supervisor shared Luna’s condition with “Classic Hits 103-9 WLPO” news.  Officially, he is ticketed with improper lane usage and illegal transport of alcohol.
