IDOT opening up construction for Labor Day weekend

Posted by wlpo on September 5, 2015

To celebrate Labor Day weekend, the Illinois Department of Transportation is opening up construction zones wherever possible. However some stretches will still be down to one lane.

In Bureau County, Interstate 80 is down to one lane each direction near Sheffield for a bridge replacement. The Interstate 180 bridge over the Illinois River is down to one lane for painting while Route 6 west of Sheffield is down to one lane because of bridge work.

In La Salle County, Interstate 80 at the Route 71 exit in Ottawa will still be down to one lane this weekend for bridge painting. In Putnam County, Route 71 in Granville has one lane of traffic controlled by signals due to culvert reconstruction.
