New school brings new traffic issues in Peru

Posted by wlpo on September 3, 2015

If everyone is patient, there shouldn’t be any problems getting used to the new traffic flow around Northview Elementary School in Peru.

School officials with the blessing of the Peru Police Department and the city are making the intersection of West Street and Shooting Park Road a four-way stop during school pick up and drop off times. East and westbound traffic on Shooting Park Road will see a flashing red light before and after school.

Peru Elementary Superintendent Mark Cross says they’d like to make the intersection a permanent four-way stop but first needs a city ordinance change.
